Doctor Holding Patient's Hand

Age appropriate screening is one of the best ways to prevent cancer. The good news is mammograms, PAP smears, and colon cancer screenings are available to anyone regardless of your income or insurance coverage. Screening saves lives!

Recommended Cancer Screenings

  • Breast cancer, mammograms: every two years from ages 40-74.

  • Cervical cancer, PAP smears: regularly from age 21

It is recommended an HPV test be done at the same time.

  • Colon cancer: screenings from ages 50-75

If you have a family history of colon cancer or polyps, screening should start earlier.

If you are uninsured or worried about cost, the Montana Cancer Screening Program or other local resources, such as the North Central Cancer Support Fund can help.

Need help finding a provider enrolled in our program? Numerous providers participate in our Cancer Screening Program and can provide free breast or cervical cancer screening for those eligible.
